Triathlon

The first annual Sitting Bull Monument Foundation triathlon was held Saturday August 19, 2006, with the 2007 event planned for August.

These rules apply:

  • AMATEURS ONLY
  • Pre-registration deadline is AUGUST
  • Age limit 15 years on up  ID is required (drivers license or tribal ID)
  • We are sanctioned by the USA Triathlon and these are their rules.
  • They also have the registration papers on their site and the whole rules at www.usatriathlon.org
  • Contestants need to have their own bikes and helmets
  • The registration FEE is $25   $9 due on August 5, along with the application, the $16 will be due on race date.
  • Contestants can pay the total fee on August 5, if they want to.
  • We will have prize money for the first three places for the men's and women's divisions a total of six Prizes!
  • 1-mile swim (right below the monument on old U.S. Highway 12)
  • 3-mile bike  (back up the old U.S. Highway 12 for 2 ½ miles and turn back towards the monument for another half mile)

Registration: 8am CST
Start time:  10am CST
End time:  12pm CST
Awards will be at 1pm CST
